We are recruiting an Interim Building Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Nottingham, supporting property services across the local region on a 6-month contract. As an Interim Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a range of surveying services across housing stock, ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and fit for purpose. Whats on offer: Rate: £35 £40 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications) Contract: 6-month interim assignment (potential for extension) Working pattern: Full-time (3740 hours per week) About the Company Our client is a well-established Social Housing group managing a large portfolio of residential properties across Nottingham and the surrounding areas. They are committed to providing safe, high-quality homes and delivering excellent services to their tenants and communities. Key responsibilities include: Conducting property inspections, including condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and post-inspections Preparing specifications of work and managing contractors to deliver repairs and maintenance projects Overseeing disrepair cases, damp and mould issues, and void property works Ensuring all works are completed in line with compliance and health & safety standards Managing projects within occupied properties, ensuring minimal disruption to residents Liaising with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication Monitoring budgets and ensuring cost-effective delivery of works Producing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records using internal systems Supporting the delivery of planned maintenance programmes The successful Interim Building Surveyor will have: Proven experience in a similar Building Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing A recognised construction-related qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar) Strong knowledge of building pathology, repairs, and maintenance Experience managing contractors and overseeing works on site Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office This role would suit an experienced Building Surveyor available at short notice, looking for an interim opportunity within a reputable Social Housing organisation.
