A reputable and long‑established machining company in Redditch is seeking an experienced CNC Fixed Head Turner to join their team. This permanent role offers competitive pay and overtime opportunities.
The successful candidate for the role of CNC Fixed Head Turner will be responsible for setting and operating fixed‑head CNC turning machines, specifically Doosan. Experience with cobots is an advantage but not essential.
Duties and responsibilities of CNC Fixed Head Turner
* Set and operate fixed head CNC turning machines
* Work confidently with twin spindle and twin turret configurations
* Produce precision components to customer specifications
* Carry out in process checks using appropriate measuring equipment
* Read and interpret engineering drawings
* Work to tight tolerances and agreed production times
* Maintain tooling, offsets, and machine condition throughout the shift
* Ensure a clean, safe, and well organised work area
* Support quality control processes and continuous improvement
Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of CNC Fixed Head Turner:
* Proven experience as a Fixed Head Turner
* Strong setting and operating skills on Doosan CNC lathes
* Experience with twin spindle and twin turret machines
* Cobot experience (advantageous but not essential)
* Ability to work to tight tolerances
* Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings
* Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Effective communication skills and a team focused approach
* Adaptable, proactive and committed to meeting deadlines
Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday Afternoons (2 – 10pm) OR Monday to Thursday Nights (8pm – 6am)
Pay: £16 to £17 per hour on afternoon shifts, £19.20 to £20.40 per hour on nights (including a 20%-night shift allowance) Rate dependent on experience
