Role Description
The Defleet Vehicle Inspector is a full-time, hybrid role based in the Midlands, responsible for assessing vehicles at the end of their rental term to ensure they meet company and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing vehicle condition reports and estimates, with key suppliers and agents, to agree the most appropriate method of repair, and parts required to achieve the return vehicle standard. This will require detailed interior and exterior inspections, to ensure damage is accurately recorded on inspection reports and digital systems. The role involves liaising with end users ensuring arbitrated estimates are presented, authorised and invoiced in a timely fashion. This position requires adherence to safety and compliance guidelines while working efficiently in a fast-paced, fleet‑focused environment.
Qualifications
* Understanding of Vehicle Repair processes, including basic mechanical & body repair techniques are required.
* Effective Communication skills, with a focus on clear reporting and coordination with colleagues and other stakeholders to support Customer Satisfaction.
* Previous experience in automotive, rental, or fleet operations is preferred, especially in inspection or quality control roles.
* Ability to use digital tools or fleet management systems to record inspections and update vehicle status accurately.
* Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and confidence in safely operating a variety of cars and vans.
* Organized, reliable, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
