We are searching for a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to become part of a dedicated PRU team supporting secondary-aged learners with social, emotional and behavioural needs. This provision supports pupils who may have experienced disruption in mainstream education and now benefit from a smaller, more nurturing setting where relationships, consistency and encouragement are central to progress. Learners can present with more outward behavioural communication styles, so the successful applicant will need confidence, resilience and a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact. You will work closely alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff to create a positive atmosphere where pupils feel respected, supported and motivated to re-engage with education. The ideal candidate will be patient, emotionally intelligent and able to maintain clear boundaries while remaining approachable and supportive. Previous experience working with SEMH needs, behaviour support or alternative provisions would be valuable, although personality, commitment and attitude are equally important.
