Therapy Radiographer - Radiotherapy Department

We are recruiting for Therapy Radiographer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We are looking for a highly motivated therapy radiographer to join us at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, based in Northwood, Middlesex.
You will work as an unsupervised worker and supervise junior staff and students and assistants.
Carry out complex technical radiotherapeutic procedures on all the treatment and pre-treatment units in the department on a rotational basis.
Undertake the appropriate care of patient assessment of treatment progress and side effects making appropriate referral to the multi-disciplinary team.
In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will assess patients level of knowledge before commencing with treatment and thus participate in the informed consent process.
Provide appropriate information or referring to support services.
To guide, instruct and support patients receiving radiotherapy and to advise patients on necessary aftercare.
To operate and care for all radiotherapy equipment. This should include the knowledge and understanding required to undertake initial diagnosis and reporting of faults.
Manage the running of the treatment / pre-treatment unit.
To maintain CPD activity such that changes in practice are understood and can be absorbed into daily activity as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications / Training
* DCR(T) or BSc in Radiotherapy and registered with the HPC
* Evidence of appropriate CPD activity
* Evidence of interest in, or attendance at M Level courses
* Evidence of clinical competencies
Previous Experience
* Range of practical work on radiotherapy equipment
* Broad experience across different area of radiotherapy and associated disciplines
Skills
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to act as clinical supervisor
Knowledge
* Good theoretical knowledge
* Knowledge of modern treatment techniques and modalities and professional issues
Other Requirements
* Experience and evidence of engagement around equality, diversity and inclusion issues in relation to policy, service development and service delivery in respect of both services to users and the management of staff
