Role Overview

This community‑based team works with people living in Derbyshire that are in recovery from drug and/or alcohol use. The role focuses on linking clients to local recovery communities, teams, projects, and mutual aid groups in the Ripley area. You will work alongside a team of four Recovery Connector workers, a Rehab Worker, and a Lived Experience Pathway Coordinator, under the supervision of a Recovery Connector Team Manager.

You will deliver recovery‑focused interventions, engage clients during treatment sessions, and support them to attend local recovery support services and meaningful activities, including mutual aid meetings and recovery‑led events. Additional responsibilities include facilitating small recovery‑oriented group work (in person and online) such as peer‑led recovery groups, structured relapse‑prevention groups, and SMART meetings. The position requires completing accredited SMART facilitator training and may involve travelling with clients to appointments to build confidence and overcome barriers. Clients will be supported at the centre of your work, and you will complete strengths‑based assessments and recovery plans.

The position is full time and permanent, working 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday, typically 9 am–5 pm). Flexible hours are possible, for example to accompany a client to an evening AA/NA meeting. Mileage will be reimbursed for journeys around the area. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory due to the rurality of the region.

We are committed to creating an inclusive working environment where everyone is free to be themselves and we ensure equity of opportunity. Applications from people of all backgrounds are encouraged, particularly those with lived experience to ensure the needs of the people we support are represented.
