Kharis Court is a 24-hour residential housing support service for young people aged 16-25 in Bathgate, West Lothian. As an Activities Volunteer, you will support the staff team in delivering fun, engaging, and meaningful activities for Kharis Court residents. This may include helping with cooking sessions, gardening projects, local outings (such as bowling or trips to the beach), and other group activities. Volunteers also play an important role in providing encouragement, a listening ear, and positive social interaction to help build confidence and connection among young people.
Responsibilities

* Assist with cooking sessions, gardening projects, and local outings (such as bowling or trips to the beach).
* Provide encouragement, a listening ear, and positive social interaction to help build confidence and connection among young people.
Experience required
* Be 25 years old or over.
* Be a person of Christian faith, rooted in a Church community.
* Be aware of, and able to demonstrate, good confidentiality and boundaries practice.
* Be able to operate under the guidance and support of the Bethany Christian Trust staff.
* Be sociable and have an approachable manner.
* Be reliable and willing to commit to building consistent and trusting relationships with young people.
* The role involves working with young people aged 16 to 25, who are experiencing homelessness, including some who are asylum seekers. The role may be challenging, and volunteers must demonstrate empathy, compassion, and the ability to engage in a supportive and positive manner.
