Education Development Trust invites expressions of interest from qualified fluent Portuguese speaking education consultants to undertake work on the following:
1. Education Sector Analysis Identification of barriers to increased equity and foundational learning outcomes. Opportunities for improvements in the education sector.
2. Political Economy Analysis Report Analysis of potential political barriers and enablers within the education sector.
3. Feasibility studies
4. Intervention List
5. Compilation of evidence-based and contextually relevant interventions and their likely impacts on foundational learning, that support all children’s learning outcomes, including marginalised children.
6. Concept Note Development of a concept note designed for maximum political and strategic alignment.
7. Final Consultancy Report Summary of findings, recommendations, and next steps.
You will have:
8. Advanced degree in Education, International Development, Political Science, or a related field.
9. Extensive experience in the design, implementation, or evaluation of foundational learning interventions, particularly for marginalized children in politically sensitive environments.
10. Strong analytical skills with substantial experience in political economy analysis.
11. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government bodies, especially within the education sector.
12. Experience and strong understanding of evidence-based interventions targeting teaching instruction at level rather than grade.
13. Knowledge of other high-impact, evidence-based foundational learning interventions in Africa.
14. Expertise in gender and social inclusion analysis, preferably within the education sector.
15. Fluency in Portuguese, with the ability to understand, speak, and write effectively.
Additionally:
16. Knowledge of the local context and experience working in Mozambique are highly desirable.
17. Being locally based in Mozambique is an advantage.
