IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator

Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)

Location: Southampton office based

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for efficiently managing technology through tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other parts of IT to ensure system components are managed effectively.

* Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business needs or improve Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems.
* Performs cost analyses and vendor comparisons for projects to ensure cost-effective operations. Assesses feasibility and makes recommendations.
* Develops technical expertise on current and emerging network & telecommunications systems.
* Communicates effectively regarding system operations and changes.
* Ensures compliance with SOX, PCI, and other regulations.
* Monitors capacity, redundancy, and health of network & telecommunications systems.
* Ensures security requirements are met or exceeded.
* Uses standards and procedures proficiently.
* Communicates effectively in large team or departmental settings.
* Aligns with Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy, showing enthusiasm for company success.
* Mentors less experienced IT Administrators.
* Provides reliable solutions using problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis.
* Performs minor system upgrades.
* Uses tools and scripting for efficient management.
* Makes component improvement recommendations.
* Identifies system interdependencies.
* Coordinates cross-team changes.
* Participates in system and application roadmap planning.
* Leads meetings with IT system users.
* Adapts well to change and values constructive feedback.
* Monitors security access levels.


Education & Experience

* Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
* Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently.
* Experience in implementing technology solutions.
* Strong communication skills in verbal and written form.
* Effective work documentation and organization skills.
* Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice.
