Finance Assistant
Location: Glasgow office based Full time
Hours – 8.30am -5pm
Employment Type: Full-time / Permanent
We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our clients team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys variety in their work.
About the Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Supervisor, you will play a key role in the effective operation of the Group’s Accounts Payable function. Your responsibilities will include supplier management, invoice processing, employee expenses, month-end cycles, and credit card analysis.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process purchase ledger and expense invoices to ensure timely payments within agreed terms
2. Monitor central mailbox and receipt all invoices
3. Act as the point of contact for internal staff and external suppliers on AP matters
4. Investigate and resolve purchase ledger queries
5. Reconcile supplier statements
6. Process monthly intercompany central recharges
7. Prepare payment runs through to the bank
8. Perform daily bank reconciliations and cashflow analysis
9. Issue monthly financial reports
10. Complete monthly credit card reconciliation
11. Conduct monthly timesheet analysis and upload labour onto IFS
12. Perform VAT checks on employee expenses and fuel spend
13. Handle ad hoc finance administration tasks
Qualifications & Skills
14. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
15. Highly numerate and literate with strong analytical skills
16. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
17. Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience
Full training will be provided; however, prior experience in the following areas is advantageous:
19. High-volume Accounts Payable within a Shared Service Centre environment
20. Working knowledge of VAT, CIS, and VAT Domestic Reverse Charge
21. Familiarity with SAGE 50, XERO, or IFS Field Services Management
