Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Surgical First Assistant at University Hospital Ayr.
What you will do
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic practitioner with perioperative experience, especially within the scrub role. The individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills and deliver high standards of care.
When not assisting in surgery, duties will include responsibilities aligned with the Deputy Charge Nurse role. You will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team within a six-theatre main department that provides exceptional care in specialties including elective orthopaedics, urology, general, and bariatric surgery.

Knowledge, training, and experience required
You must have first-level registration with the NMC/HCPC and be working towards or educated to degree level, or have relevant post-registration evidence of personal development.
Completion of the SFA course parts 1 & 2 is desirable; however, candidates without this will be considered. Completion is expected within 18 months, and support will be provided. Successful completion is required to uphold the post.
