Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team.
we have just launched our café in to a new purpose built 60 seater in door and 40 seats outside, TIPI café, restaurant, event venue & evening steak nights (cooked on wood / charcoal) and eventually Sunday lunches.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with a keen eye for detail, presentation, be on food trends and a commitment to food safety. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes that delight our guests while working with our existing chef and creative and ambitious owner, we boast a serious amount of local quality produce and this will be fed to you from our master butchers.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with the restaurant's menu and standards.
* Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring that food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed.
* Manage and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment.
* Develop new recipes and menu items, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and order as necessary to maintain stock.
* Ensure the kitchen is organised, clean, and well-maintained at all times.
* Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety practices, and operational procedures.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
* Experience in menu planning, food production, and supervising kitchen operations is essential.
* Culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
