Responsibilities
1. Provide general patient care and perform routine treatments and procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse.
2. Assist patients with personal hygiene to promote comfort and well-being.
3. Check and record intake and output as ordered.
4. Take and record patients' vital signs and other measurements as indicated.
5. Administer enemas, reinforce simple non-sterile dressings, apply binders, collect specimens, apply heat or cold devices, and perform other routine tasks.
6. Assist the RN in caring for seriously ill patients or in complex treatments or procedures.
7. Help maintain a safe and clean environment with well-stocked supplies and functioning equipment.
8. Maintain patient medical records accurately and legibly, documenting all care and significant information.
9. Observe assigned patients and report any problems, changes in condition, or unexpected occurrences to the RN/Team Leader.
10. Attend seminars and in-services to stay current in the field.
11. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
* Vocational/Technical training and over six months of relevant experience or equivalent.
* RI State Nursing Assistant license required.
