A wonderful new opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join our thriving and successful school. You will join a highly experienced Science team at The Levels School, playing a crucial role in undertaking a range of science related technical support to ensure our students have the appropriate resources to access the science curriculum. You will be line managed by the Head of Science and your role will primarily support the Science department with preparation and assistance with Science-related materials as well as facility maintenance. Food and Nutrition is taught as part of the Science Faculty and as such there will be a need to support with the resourcing of this also.
As an Independent Specialist School students have a range of SEND. All follow GCSE Double Science with a minority double entered for Entry Level Certificate if required. Students are encouraged to be curious about the world around them. Science is very much taught through practical investigation. The Science Department works extremely collaboratively, and you will benefit greatly from the experience and support of the whole team.
This vacancy is offered as a Full Time, Term Time Only (with some additional days) position. However, Part Time may be considered for the right candidate and the number of hours offered. Daily working hours can be discussed and agreed at interview. Students are in school from 8.30am - 4.00pm.

Job overview
You’ll be responsible for the preparation of a range of materials and apparatus for the Science curriculum within the designated Science classrooms. You will take pride in ensuring Science facilities are maintained to a high standard, conforming to Health and Safety standards whilst also assisting in auditing the use of facilities and equipment and maintaining the 'prep room' and relevant chemical stores. You will also work with the Science team to monitor stock levels, order new supplies, and manage the secure storage of hazardous materials.
Job requirements
•Minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant Science specialism
•GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 equivalent or above
•Excellent organisational skills with the ability to effectively monitor usage and standards of equipment and facilities
•Knowledge of relevant school policies and codes of safe practice within the classroom
•Knowledge of HSE requirements and COSHH
