SEN Learning Support Assistant

Highgate Primary School

Fixed Term until 22nd August 2027

27.5 hours per week, term time plus inset (39 weeks per year)

Grade 5, Pts 7 to 8 (£16,024 to £16,278)

Start Date: 24th August 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join Bradgate Education Partnership, working at Highgate Primary School as Learning Support Assistant for 27.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis for the 26/27 academic year.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will;

•Children Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their full potential. This may include working with SEN children delivering bespoke learning activities.

•Behaviour Management: Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.

•Progress Monitoring: Track and report on children’s progress, working closely with teachers to adapt support strategies as needed.

The ideal candidate will:

•Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within a primary school. However, other experience will be considered.

•Patience and empathy to support children with diverse needs and backgrounds.

•A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards education and child development.

•Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs of children and the school environment.

•Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents.

•A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
