Collins Aerospace is looking for an Engineering Project Lead (EPL) to oversee the authoring of Engineering Quotations for Modification and Upgrade (MAU) projects within our Aftermarket Galley division.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of transforming aircraft interiors, designing solutions that enhance passenger experience, elevate airline brands, and redefine comfort at 35,000 feet. Whether upgrading cabin configurations or optimizing & rebranding the most complex Galley products in the market, your expertise will directly impact the future of aviation.
What You Will Do
* Own the Engineering Quotation delivery for various intriguing Galley upgrade projects such as in-service product improvements, Trim and Finish (T&F) changes, cabin reconfigurations, customization and rebranding for some of the top tier airlines in the world.
* Manage all aspects of Engineering quotations, from receiving in Business Development's (BD's) request for Engineering quote, to releasing the complete, vetted, Engineering quote artefacts.
* Think strategically to identify an optimal program approach, consider prototype and testing requirements of the customer/integrator, and identify Risks and Opportunities for the potential program.
* Work with cross-functional internal teams that span across not just Design, Project and Stress, Certification Engineers dedicated to quotations, but also Sales & BD Managers, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
* Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of Eng. quotations and communicate the Estimated Completion Dates (ECDs) to the Sales/BD teams for all open quotes.
* Embody a sense of ownership and accountability for your assigned quotes that instils trust across the business.
* Conduct Quote Review Meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned on program approach, assumptions, etc.
* Ensure that the details in the quote which have been prepared by Project and Certification Engineers are accurate for Engineering hours, hard costs, schedule, key assumptions, Risks & Opportunities (R&O), testing requirements, etc.
* Support Sales/Business Development with investigations and/or customer discussions prior to formal quote kick off.
* Lead individual Design Engineers performing design studies & investigations that also support Seating quotations but have a different reporting relationship.
* Support alignment of Design, Project and Stress, Certification standard hours for tasks to ensure program budgets are achievable.
* Utilize a visual management system to clearly communicate the various actions required for quotes, including team member assignments, ECDs, and flagging when help is needed if an action is blocked.
* Support Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
* Provide supplemental support for program execution Project Engineers, Cert Engineers, and Engineering Project Leads (EPLs), as awarded proposals are transitioned to active programs that are being worked by the execution team.

Experience
* A degree in a STEM related subject.
* Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems for commercial aircraft seating products is a plus.
* Experience working with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
* Familiarity with FAA/EASA requirements; Airbus Seating requirements a plus.
Travel Requirements
You may be required to travel up to 10% of the time, which could be international or domestic.
