SEN Learning Support Assistant
Prospero Teaching is looking for a compassionate and reliable SEN Learning Support Assistant to work in schools in the Salisbury area. This long‑term role focuses on supporting pupils who have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning delays, or social and emotional challenges.
You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent, patient support throughout the school day. Your role will help pupils access learning, build confidence, regulate emotions, and develop positive relationships within a structured and supportive environment.

The Role:
1. Deliver 1:1 support and small‑group assistance for pupils with SEN
2. Help students engage with lessons and classroom activities
3. Support emotional regulation, confidence‑building, and behaviour strategies
4. Assist with routines, transitions, and adapted learning tasks
5. Encourage independence and positive social interaction
6. Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and support teams
Ideal Candidate:
7. Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
8. Calm, patient, and confident supporting additional needs
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills
10. Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
11. Adaptable and reliable in a school setting
12. Passionate about supporting pupils who need extra guidance
13. Psychology, education, or child‑related graduates encouraged to apply
Contract Details:
14. Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
15. Location: Salisbury
16. Start Date: ASAP
17. Hours: Full‑time, term‑time
18. Pay Rate: £ – £ per hour
19. Contract Type: Long‑term
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
20. Experience with children or SEN desirable
21. Safeguarding training can be provided
22. Understanding of SEN strategies beneficial
Eligibility:
23. Right to work in the UK
24. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
25. Two suitable references
