At DWP Digital, we design and develop digital user-friendly digital services that enable millions of people to access the help, advice, and financial support they need. Almost everyone in the UK relies on our digital services at some point in their lives.
DWP needs the right intelligence for it to be able to deliver its services and continually look to improve them and do this in as efficient way as possible. MI (Management Information) is an integral part of providing the intelligence to enable this. DWP MI provides the strategic capability for MI reporting and visualisations across the entire Department. Supporting many teams across DWP in self-developing their own MI, whilst also providing the option for areas of DWP to commission MI to be developed for them.
Our Data Analyst community have a key responsibility in providing the right skills and talent to ensure the effective development of MI across DWP Digital.
Please note - As part of the role, you may be required to travel regularly to the other digital hubs. The frequency of this will be discussed further should you be successful.
As a Data Analyst, you will:
Be responsible for overseeing the development of data analysis products which meet stakeholder needs to agreed timescales, as well as setting out a strategy and approach for how the team cascades knowledge and coach teams right across DWP to do their own MI developments.
Support continuous improvement of MI development standards and provide leadership to develop the broader MI developer community across DWP, providing technical guidance alongside other data analysis functions for stakeholders.
Have line management responsibility for up to five data analysts.
Work within our MI Support Hub and will have the fantastic opportunity of being able to guide and coach hundreds of teams across DWP, cascading skills and knowledge on how to best develop MI products. This is because many of the teams that engage with DWP MI and build products on our platform are doing so on a best endeavours basis.
Be responsible for steering and coaching such teams, and managing other data analysts, deploying them to best effect to achieve this outcome. It really is an opportunity to have a widespread impact across DWP.
