Overview
Opportunity in the Credit Stress Testing Modelling team in Risk Analytics. The Climate Risk Stress Testing Specialist role develops, maintains, and monitors VMUK’s Climate stress testing models to forecast loan loss provisions and capital requirements under various Climate scenarios, including regulatory stress tests. The role spans across Retail and Business asset classes and offers cross-functional collaboration to drive business insight.
Responsibilities
* Lead the development of the climate stress testing model suite across Retail and Business portfolios, and across IRB and IFRS 9 modelling environments
* Support technical leads to independently implement changes to SAS-based Stress Testing Engines and related analytical tools
* Drive continuous improvement by addressing Open Model validation actions, identifying model performance issues, addressing oversight actions, and embedding learnings to evolve business and regulatory requirements
* Design and implement monitoring for Climate Stress testing models
* Identify opportunities to simplify and automate SAS processes/code to reduce operational risk
* Collaborate with credit risk modelling, finance and business teams to obtain insights and feedback for managing credit stress testing models
* Support the operational/delivery arm of the credit stress testing team in relation to model usage
What you’ll need
* Strong knowledge of climate risk model methodologies and stress testing frameworks across Retail and Business portfolios with understanding of model usage
* Experience in model development for stress testing, ideally using SAS and R
* Effective climate risk modelling skills across physical risk and transition risk
* Understanding of climate-related regulations and reporting standards (e.g. TCFD, ESG reporting)
* Excellent analytical ability and keen attention to detail
* Strong communication skills to explain complex methodologies and outputs to varying levels of subject matter expertise
