Providing the solution to customer business requirements, leading a technical workstream to successfully implement programme/project requirements & deliverables. Helping to define and govern technical standards and principles, guide technology roadmaps, and manage technical dependencies across various value streams. As an Infrastructure Architect your responsibilities would be expected to include:

Provide infrastructure solutions to customer business requirements, mapping at an solution and enterprise levels, leading technical workstreams to implement programme/project requirements and deliverables.

Define and govern technical standards and principles, guide technology roadmaps, and manage technical dependencies across various value streams.

Develop infrastructure architecture designs aligned with industry standards (e.g., TOGAF), including proposals, HLDs, LLDs, and other design artefacts.
·
Produce publication-quality HLD/LLD, sequence/flow diagrams, threat models, runbooks, and compliance dossiers; curate project wikis (Azure DevOps/SharePoint) as single source of truth.

Contribute to the development of IT strategies and roadmaps for the enterprise.
·
Review and audit existing designs, propose improvements and transformations as required.
·
Align with and help to shape Enterprise Architecture approaches and associated frameworks.
·
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to elicit requirements, understanding business objectives and benefits of IT solutions for diverse audiences.

Participate in the architecture community (company events, industry events, mentoring, training).
·
Present complex technical problems at all levels of customer organisations.
·
Engage and maintain relationships at peer level across customer and supplier environments.
·
Analyse and explain risks involved in adopting certain technology solutions.
·
Identify and investigate opportunities for driving value and prepare technical advice and guidance notes.
·
Analyse the solutions environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend improvements.
·
Work closely with Lead Consultant, Project Managers, and Enterprise Architects to ensure technical and project governance and reviews are conducted.

Support the production of proposals, bid material, and other artefacts to support winning new business.
Experience
·
Experience as an Infrastructure Architect or similar role in large-scale, high-security environments, preferably within Defence or government sectors.
·
Strong track record in designing and delivering secure, complex IT and digital infrastructure systems.
·
Proficiency in hybrid architectures (on-premise and cloud), cybersecurity, system integration, and infrastructure automation.
·
Experience working on digital projects with cross-functional teams (Designers, Researchers, UX, Product Owners, Developers).
·
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
·
Familiarity with Defence-specific frameworks (e.g., MODAF, NAF) is an advantage.
·
Experience implementing enterprise-level architecture in complex, multi-supplier/multi-platform environments.
·
Experience designing and implementing secure systems to meet Government Security Classification and NCSC standards.
·
Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms; on-premise technologies; identity management; storage; networking; and security controls.
