Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking qualified finance leader to spearhead the finance function of a privately held rural estates business. Operating across property, agriculture, hospitality, forestry, and leisure, this role sits at the heart of a fast-moving and highly ambitious organisation that is evolving for the future.
This is a unique opportunity to provide day-to-day leadership of the finance team and partner with senior leadership to support smart, values-driven growth. The role will also shape the financial strategy, championing innovation, stewardship, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities

* Lead the financial functions, ensuring high-quality and timely reporting, insightful management accounts and a robust financial planning cycle

* Play a central role in evaluating new ventures, property development projects and sustainability-led initiatives across the estate
\t
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the finance function efficiently manages cash, capital, and tax liabilities across all business divisions
\t
* Deliver clear, timely and commercially focused analysis to support operational decision-making and long-term planning
\t
* Inspire, develop and manage a growing finance team, fostering a collaborative culture focused on insight, integrity and excellence
\t
* Drive the adoption of robust systems and modern financial practices to optimise efficiency across the business
The Candidate
\t
* A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation and meticulous attention to detail
\t
* Proven experience in financial leadership within a rural estate - property, construction or agricultural business is also highly desirable
\t
* Skilled communicator and team leader, able to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight for non-financial audiences
\t
* Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to navigate fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and evolving objectives

* Commercially minded and values-driven, with an appreciation for the legacy and long-term stewardship involved in a family-owned rural business
