Position Description
Electrification of transport is a key pillar of ESB’s Net Zero Strategy – reducing the carbon impact from transport and improving air‑quality while growing our business. ESB builds, owns and operates the publicly available Electric Vehicle (EV) charging networks across Ireland and the UK. ESB plans to significantly grow the capacity of its EV charging networks with already over 1,000 EV charging stations. Currently in Britain there are over 320 HPC, Rapid and AC charging stations operational across the cities of London, Coventry and Birmingham and the network is growing nationwide with the roll‑out of its HPC hubs. A continual pipeline of additional sites is coming online and these numbers will grow significantly in the next few years. ESB’s strategy, consistent with our role as a pioneer in electromobility and our ambition to capture value from the global trend in electrification of transport, is to continue to expand our EV charging infrastructure network.
ESB ecars Operations team is responsible for managing the performance and availability of ESB’s EV charging networks in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain. This involves active performance management and timely fault correction to SLA, reporting fault and complaint analysis, management of preventative and corrective maintenance programmes and supporting the expansion and upgrade of ESB’s EV networks.
