Senior Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS Civil Engineering (NEC Contracts)Location: Sussex or Kent - 1 day a week in FalmerSector: Civil Engineering / InfrastructureType: Permanent | Hybrid WorkingOur client, a leading UK infrastructure delivery partner, is currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor (Senior QS) to join a major civil engineering project in Sussex. Following recent project awards, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a long-term infrastructure programme with strong career progression.This role would suit a Senior QS with solid NEC contract experience and a background in civil engineering, infrastructure, water, energy.Role Overview Senior Quantity SurveyorAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing commercial and contractual activities across the full project lifecycle. The Senior QS will ensure robust cost control, contractual compliance, and value for money while supporting successful project delivery.The Senior Quantity Surveyor role offers hybrid working, combining site-based, office, and home working.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial management of civil engineering and infrastructure worksIssuing accurate and timely contractual notices and correspondenceIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunitiesPreparing and agreeing applications for payment and valuationsManaging variations, change control, delays, and extensions of timeProducing monthly cost reports, forecasts, and financial updatesSupporting tendering, procurement, and subcontract managementManaging subcontractor accounts and final accountsProviding contractual advice to project and site teamsEnsuring compliance with commercial procedures and NEC contractsSkills & Experience RequiredEssentialProven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Senior QSBackground in civil engineering or infrastructure projectsStrong NEC3 / NEC4 contract experienceExcellent commercial and financial management skillsExperience producing cost reports, valuations, and contractual correspondenceStrong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsQualificationsDegree in Quantity Surveying (RICS or CICES accredited)DesirableChartered or near-chartered status (RICS / CICES)Why Apply?Long-term, secure infrastructure projectEarly involvement in a major civil engineering schemeHybrid and flexible workingClear career progression for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to ManagmentSupportive and professional working environmentEqual OpportunitiesIntersect is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of background
