Design Engineer / Technician at J&T Business Consulting
Permanent, Full-time position.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop a variety of products, including vehicle conversions and trailer systems, from concept through to production-ready designs.
* Ensure all product designs comply with relevant transportation regulations and industry standards.
* Collaborate with sales, purchasing, subcontractors, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet customer requirements.
* Manage assigned design projects, ensuring timely completion and coordination of resources.
* Provide technical support by preparing detailed drawings for customer quotations and bespoke client needs.
* Proactively identify and solve design and manufacturing challenges.
* Maintain technical documentation, including CAD drawings, design specifications, and compliance records.
* Visit production sites as necessary to support design implementation and problem-solving.
Person Specification
* Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
* Experience in vehicle conversion or trailer design preferred.
* Knowledge of relevant safety, compliance regulations, and industry standards.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or similar.
* Strong communication skills for liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Creative problem solver with an innovative mindset.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality deliverables.
