Permanent, full time, 10 Programmed Activities per week plus on call

(part time may be considered)

Southwest Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Specialty Doctor to join the North Kirklees Older People Services based at Beckside Court, Batley. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the OPS Community Team.

Person Specification


Transport

* Holds and will use valid UK driving licence.


Experience

* Excellent knowledge in specialty.
* Excellent clinical skills using bio‑psycho‑social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
* Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
* Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
* Able to provide clinical leadership to a multi‑professional team and liaise with a wide variety of agencies.
* Wide range of specialist and sub‑specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.


Physical Attributes

* Smart professional appearance.
* Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or must have checked GMC eligibility and commenced the application process at the time of NHS jobs application.
* Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience; of which at least two years training in adult, old age or liaison psychiatry.
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
* Approved under S12 or able to achieve with 3 months of appointment.


Special Knowledge and Skills

o Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
o Participate in continuous professional development.
o Participate in research or service evaluation.
o Able to use and appraise clinical evidence.
o Has actively participated in clinical audit.
o Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
o Reflect on purpose of CPD undertaken.
o Experience in clinical research and / or service evaluation.
o Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications.
o Has led clinical audits leading to service change.

o Able to effectively manage time and resources within a team.

Qualifications

o MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
o Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
o Additional clinical qualifications.
