About the Role
As Finance Manager, you will lead the finance function and ensure robust financial systems, processes and controls are in place. Key responsibilities include:
* Producing accurate quarterly management accounts and supporting schedules
* Providing clear financial insight to support organisational decision‑making
* Supporting annual budgeting and ongoing project‑level financial monitoring
* Maintaining the integrity of financial data within Aqilla and Sharperlight
* Overseeing payroll, invoicing and income management
* Preparing year‑end schedules and draft financial statements for audit
* Line managing a Finance Officer and fostering a supportive team culture
* Managing credit control and ensuring strong financial stewardship
Full training will be provided on the organisation’s financial systems, with ongoing support for professional development.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
* Strong experience in management accounts, budgeting and financial reporting
* Knowledge of charity accounting principles, including restricted/unrestricted funds and Charity SORP
* Experience of internal financial controls, credit control and UK payroll legislation
* Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and analytical skills
* Experience using finance/reporting systems (Aqilla and Sharperlight desirable)
* Line management experience and a collaborative, solutions‑focused approach
* Commitment to equality, professionalism and high standards of confidentiality
You must be able to work from the organisation’s Salford office and be willing to work flexibly when required.
