Job Description Shift Manager – Print & Production Operations No weekends! Week one - 6am-2pm Mon - Fri Week 2- 2pm to Midnight Monday to Thursday Also option to do a perm shift 1 or 2. A long-established manufacturing and print facility is looking for a Shift Manager to support the smooth running of its high-volume production environment. The company specialises in sustainable printing and packaging solutions and takes pride in creating a workplace where safety, teamwork, and employee development come first. About the Role This position is responsible for the leadership and performance of a full production shift. The Shift Manager plays a key role in guiding people, improving processes, and ensuring the site operates safely and efficiently. The focus is on maintaining a motivated, well-supported team while keeping production on track and meeting key targets. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern. Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Champion a strong health and safety culture across the shift. Coach, develop, and support team members to follow safe working practices. Maintain and improve site safety procedures, including risk assessments and safe systems of work. Team Leadership Lead and motivate the shift team to deliver consistent, high-quality performance. Support all aspects of people management: recruitment, onboarding, reviews, performance conversations, training, and employee relations. Step in to cover breaks where needed to keep production flowing smoothly. Operational Management Oversee daily production flow, ensuring bottlenecks—whether machine, staffing, or process related—are quickly addressed. Monitor and achieve shift KPIs including safety, output, quality, waste, and overall efficiency. Maintain high operational standards and ensure full compliance with site procedures. Review individual and team performance, taking proactive and corrective action when required. Continuous Improvement Drive ongoing improvements in productivity and efficiency using modern manufacturing principles. Identify gaps and opportunities to improve machine reliability, workflow, and overall asset performance. Cross-Department Collaboration Communicate effectively with warehouse, engineering, safety, and quality teams to ensure alignment across all shift activities. Work closely with engineering to prioritise maintenance and schedule preventative work when equipment is offline. Ensure updates, changes, and audit requirements are fully understood and embedded within the shift.
