QUALITY ENGINEER

Our client is part of a group that has been established for almost two hundred years and employs more than 5,500 staff globally. They specialise in a range of bespoke heavier engineering and materials handling activities for diverse applications. Due to continued success and ongoing strategic growth, they are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to be based in their Leeds office and support their quality control team.
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will undertake duties including:
1. Expediting and reviewing subcontractor/supplier quality procedures.
2. Reviewing Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs).
3. Expediting and inspecting manufactured and supplied items.
4. Compiling internal CCM MQPs for machining, assembly, fabrication, and painting.
5. Monitoring MQP activities to meet project quality requirements.
6. Expediting and reviewing verification documentation such as certificates and reports.
7. Compiling Manufacturing Lifetime Quality Records for customer review and acceptance.
8. Compiling and following up on NCRs.
9. Arranging third-party inspections as required by MQPs.
10. Assisting other areas of the QA/QC department as needed.
11. Controlling all expediting, inspections, and liaising with suppliers and clients.
The role may require travel to inter-company departments, suppliers, and customer sites within the UK.
Candidates should hold nationally recognised QC certification, have experience in a QA/QC environment, and possess a full UK driving license.
Essential skills include a comprehensive understanding of MQP and LTQR requirements, knowledge of certification standards (Material, NDT, Painting, Welding), familiarity with British Standards, and the ability to read engineering drawings, ideally within a medium/heavy engineering environment.
