About the role:
Are you ready to put your Inspecting expertise to work in shaping the future of gas transmission at National Gas? If so, we’re looking for a co-worker like you!
We're searching for a Senior Welding Inspector or a Senior Pipeline Inspector (SPI) to join us on a permanent basis to work within the Gas Industry.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
* Compliance of all aspects of welding and fabrication activities
* Advise on compliance with legal, regulatory, standard and client requirements
* Inspection/witnessing of welds in line with the relevant specification
* Review of visual welding inspection reports
* Witnessing & liaising with non-destructive testing sub-contractors conducting on-site non-destructive testing
* Quality control witness/review Inspections of components from onsite and off-site manufacturers
* Review and interpretation of radiographs of weldments to ensure compliance to standards prior to client review
* Review of non-destructive testing reports to ensure compliance to standards prior to client review
* Review of population of weld maps for on-site welding works
* Witnessing/inspecting and oversight of on-site welding and fabrication works
* Inspection review of on-site installation and assembly of fabricated products to ensure compliance to the requirements
* Review and verification of Welding documentation to ensure compliance with the legal and regulatory standards, and client requirements for the completion of works
* Assist in the compilation of the lifetime quality records
* Review of documentation to ensure compliance with the legal and regulatory standards, and client requirements for the completion of works
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of gas transmission projects, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals in a dynamic and evolving industry.
Ideally, you'll need to live around 40-50 miles (approx. 1 hour) from the Hitchin site and be able to travel to Hitchin or other sites 5 days a week. Travel to other sites will include staying away from home for the week and jobs can be anywhere in the UK. All travel expenses will be covered by us.
What we're looking for:
Essential -
* CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector or BGAS/CSWIP Senior Pipeline Inspector Gr 1 or 2
* PCN/CSWIP Level 2 Radiographic Interpretation (as part of SWI 3.2.2 or SPI 2)
* Full UK car driving licence
Desirable -
* Full UT welds and MPA qualification
* PCN/CSWIP Level 2 Dye Penetrant Inspector
