Job Description: The School of Pharmacy at Queen’s University Belfast is currently seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Lead Pharmacist for Prescribing.

Role Overview: The Lead Pharmacist for Prescribing will be responsible for managing and leading the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the independent prescribing course for pharmacists. This program of learning must align with the Commission from the Department of Health and support the implementation of the Government’s strategy for the delivery of pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the independent prescribing course for pharmacists.
Ensure compliance with the Department of Health’s requirements and government strategies.
Facilitate networking within the pharmacy community and promote multi-disciplinary collaboration.
Utilize project management skills to effectively coordinate and execute tasks.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience: To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

A degree in Pharmacy.
Current membership or eligibility for membership of the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.
Significant recent experience as a Registered Pharmacist.
Experience working in community pharmacy and/or hospital and/or primary care settings.
Proven experience in networking within the pharmacy profession and collaborating with multiple disciplines.
Demonstrated experience in project management.
Contract and Benefits: This position is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months. Fixed-term contracts are initially offered for the stated period but may be renewed or considered for permanent employment based on the availability of funding.
