Weapons Instructor
Permanent position, onsite work Monday to Thursday (08:00–16:30) and Friday (08:00–13:00). Location Clyde. Pension & enhanced leave allowance available.
Role
Deliver classroom and simulator-based training, primarily focused on Astute Class submarines. The role ensures armed forces are fully prepared to operate and maintain weapon handling systems safely and effectively across submarine platforms.
Responsibilities
* Provide training to students with a wide range of experience, predominantly in the Weapons Electrical (WE) Weapons Handling discipline, including generic training such as Astute Class Familiarisation and Submarine Qualification Training (SMQ). Ensure all training is delivered to prescribed standards and contractual requirements.
* Maintain courseware: liaise with the Training Design (TD) team and support routine review and amendment of WE Weapons Handling courseware.
* Support the review and evaluation of technical data/notifications of change, identifying the impact on existing WE courseware. Liaise with the TD team to implement required changes.
* Conduct administration and reporting activities associated with training delivery to meet contractual requirements.
* Provide SME advice in support of Marine Training Directorate and deliver bids/jobs efficiently in terms of cost, schedule, and quality.
Required experience
* Sound knowledge of submarine Tactical Weapons Engineering systems.
* Experience in Weapons Handling operations.
