Offer description

Your Role

and What You'll Be Doing

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Solicitor to join our Tier 1 Legal 500 ranked Wills, Trusts and Estate Disputes team at our Birmingham Office. Working alongside our other national teams, the Birmingham team has extensive experience representing executors, beneficiaries, and trustees to provide outstanding client care and achieve landmark case judgements.

This is a superb opportunity to develop your skills within a highly established and innovative Wills, Trusts, and Estate Disputes department. You’ll work alongside leading solicitors and experts on a stimulating mix of high-quality privately-funded cases as well as cases with alternative funding such as CFAs, LEI, ATE, and BTE insurance.

About You

* Have a strong appetite for business development, able to build successful relationships with referrers of work, members of the bar, and the legal profession.
* Able to operate independently and as part of a team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients and develop other team members.
* Have excellent client care and inter-personal skills, operating with integrity and showing empathy and intuition.
* Existing contacts within the local area would be beneficial.
* Experience in contentious probate matters, ideally in a focused Wills, Trusts & Estates Disputes role.

Our Benefits - What We Can Offer You

* 25 days holidays as standard plus bank holidays - You can ‘buy’ up to 35 hours of extra holiday too.
* Generous and flexible pension schemes.
* Volunteering days – Two days of volunteering every year for a cause of your choice (fully paid).
* Westfield Health membership, offering refunds on medical services alongside our Aviva Digital GP services.

We also offer a wide range of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace and to ensure you’re fully supported. This includes our Flexible by Choice programme, which gives our colleagues more choice over a hybrid way of working, subject to role, team, and client requirements.

We have been ranked in the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing for Large Organisations for 2024!

Our responsible business programmes are fundamental to who we are and our purpose. We’re committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace where our colleagues can flourish, and we have established a number of inclusion network groups across our business to support this aim.

Our commitment to social responsibility, community investment, and tackling climate change is a core part of our identity. It comprises four strands: Our People, Our Community, Our Environment, and Our Pro Bono.
