Job Description:

Are you driven to make a meaningful impact through skills development? We’re looking for a Workshop Facilitator to manage and guide a team of up to 18 prisoners in our tea packing workshop at HMP Millsike. This is a hands-on role where you’ll oversee workshop operations, support employability skills development through the Employability Passport programme, and foster a safe and structured work environment.

Working closely with Work & Skills Coaches, you’ll empower learners by developing their practical skills and encouraging personal accountability. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to positive change and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise tea packing processes, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and productivity.
* Provide guidance to help prisoners meet productivity targets and build essential work skills.
* Manage daily schedules, set targets, monitor progress, and log attendance to maintain consistent output.
* Oversee stock levels and liaise with procurement to ensure availability of materials.
* Conduct health and safety assessments, enforce safe practices, and provide training to maintain a secure workplace.
* Encourage accountability and self-reflection to support each learner’s rehabilitation journey.
* Ensure compliance with tool security protocols, complete incident reports, and contribute to prisoner evaluations.

What We’re Looking For:

* Skilled in supervising and supporting teams within structured environments.
* Proficient in conducting risk assessments and enforcing safety standards.
* Strong organisational abilities, excellent communication, and attention to detail in admin tasks.
* Familiar with restorative practices and experienced in applying them within a training or structured setting.

If you’re passionate about making a difference and supporting the rehabilitation journey, apply now to join our team at HMP Millsike.

For full details of the role and the person specification please review the job description or if you would like to speak to the recruitment team before you apply, please email any questions to us. One of the team will come back to you. If you wish to apply, please ensure this is done via the apply now button.

This role is to start in March 2025; please ensure you state your current notice period in your application.

Please note: Internally this role will be known as Industries Instructor.
