An opportunity has arisen for a Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist to work in the Wound Care Team for East London Foundation Trust in the Bedfordshire Community Healthcare Service. This role is responsible for the delivery of safe and effective services for patients with tissue viability needs within the community services of Bedfordshire. As a senior member of the Tissue Viability Team, you will provide expert clinical leadership, specialist assessment, and evidence‑based advice to community nursing teams, mental health teams, care homes, and other partners across Mid Bedfordshire. You will play a key role in driving pressure ulcer prevention, supporting complex wound management, and leading quality‑improvement initiatives that directly enhance patient outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to influence practice across a diverse population, working autonomously while being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
You will need to be a first level registered nurse with a minimum of five years post‑registration experience with at least two years in the specialty of wound care with a recognised wound care qualification, a qualification in sharp debridement and experience of caring for a variety of wounds including burns, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and wounds requiring negative pressure. You should be qualified to degree level and hold or be working towards a BSc in Tissue Viability or Dermatology. You must have a mentorship qualification and should have undertaken training in Quality Improvement.
