About the Role
We are seeking a Speech and Language Support Assistant to help pupils develop their communication, language, and literacy skills. The role will focus on supporting children with identified speech, language, or communication needs, working closely with teaching staff and therapists to implement effective strategies.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with speech and language needs.
* Deliver speech and language interventions as directed by qualified professionals.
* Support pupils in classroom activities and personal care where appropriate.
* Monitor and record pupil progress and response to interventions.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to promote consistent support.
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications
* Experience supporting pupils with speech, language, or communication difficulties.
* Knowledge of speech and language strategies and intervention techniques.
* Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
