We are seeking to recruit a Project Support Officer to the Corporate Service Support Project Office Team, on a full-time, fixed term basis up to 31 March .
About the Role
The Project Support Officer will have an important role in working within the Economy and Regeneration Service to support the team in the delivery of multiple, high-profile funding programmes that the Strategic Economic Investment team lead on for the Authority and for Growing Mid Wales. The role will support a wide variety of programmes and funds as part of the Growing Mid Wales Portfolio, with a particular focus on Regional Energy and the Mid Wales Growth Deal.
On a day-to-day basis the postholder will be required to assist in the development, monitoring and maintaining of project related documentation and leading on the scheduling, administration and noting of a range of project meetings. The role will demand face to face, written, verbal and electronic communications with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
About the Candidate:
We are seeking an individual who possesses a minimum level of qualifications – A project management/managerial qualification to degree/NVQ5 level or demonstrable equivalent experience / Prince 2 Foundation.
The following qualities required for the post include:
1. Good understanding and experience of using various Programme and Project Management tools and techniques.
2. Excellent IT Skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
3. Excellent interpersonal, planning and organisation skills with outstanding ability to prioritise and schedule workloads and work within set deadlines.
4. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and consistency.
5. Experience of working in a Programme / Project Management Office or within a similar environment.
6. To work as a member of a cohesive team and, when required, to take lead responsibility for issues outside his/her immediate sphere of responsibility.
7. Good communications skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The post is subject to hybrid working and there will be a requirement to attend Council offices to meet the demands of the role.

Democratic Services
We play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of the decision-making process of the Council, including support and advice to Councillors; PA, administrative and project management support to all service areas; facilitating elections; the communications team; translation and the Welsh Language policy officer. Our key functions include:
8. Corporate Service Support: PA and Administrative support; Business support including project management and minute taking.
9. Democratic Services: Councillors; Council, Cabinet, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and Regulatory Committees.
10. Electoral Services: General and local elections; Management of electoral register.
11. Communications Team: Manage communication activities corporately; support services in campaigns and projects; deal with the press and media; develop and issue press releases; manage social media pages.
12. Translation: Documents and simultaneous translation.
13. Welsh Language Standards: Operational; Policy making; Promotion; Monitoring; Service delivery.
