Overview

The Office of the Chief Legal Officer at CAA provides dedicated legal support in corporate transactions, commercial agreements, compliance, data protection, and employment matters. The Legal Counsel – Corporate (International) will report to the Lead Counsel – Corporate, Commercial and Compliance (International) in London and work closely with the wider OCLO team in Los Angeles, CAA’s Business Affairs teams and Local Counsel to provide an efficient and high‑quality service to internal and external stakeholders.


Role

This new role will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to CAA’s International offices (EMEA, APAC and LATAM) and business groups with a primary focus on general corporate and strategic matters to assist the business in managing and mitigating risk while enabling growth and operational efficiency. The role involves working across all departments, subsidiaries and affiliates in CAA’s International offices, including Music Touring, TV, Sports, Talent & Property Sales, Brand Consulting, CAA Base, CAA Stellar, CAA Portas and Operations (e.g. OCLO, Tech, HR & Finance).


Responsibilities

* Advise on domestic and international corporate governance, group structuring and board matters including entity formations, restructures and closures, and dividend payments.
* Manage ongoing administration for CAA’s International entities, including preparing, organising and maintaining corporate records, minutes and resolutions, and risk registers.
* Support commercial agreements, including strategic partnership and licensing arrangements.
* Assist with KYC, internal policies, approvals and delegated authorities.
* Ensure consistent corporate governance standards and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies across multiple jurisdictions.
* Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities and advise accordingly.
* Educate and provide training to business partners and stakeholders on corporate legal matters, policies and procedures.
* Interact with global legal and business colleagues on multi-jurisdictional projects and initiatives.
* Provide practical, risk-based legal advice to key internal stakeholders including Business Affairs, HR, Finance and Accounting, Tax and Treasury.
* Perform job duties consistent with legal and regulatory requirements and with CAA’s culture and business objectives.
* Recognise when to elevate matters to the Lead Counsel.
* Work with outside counsel as required.
* Travel and other duties as required or assigned.


Qualifications

* Strong academic background: LLB (Hons), BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) 2:1 or above; if relevant, Graduate Diploma in Law Merit and above; LPC Merit and above.
* Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with 4+ years of substantive PQE experience.
* Experience at a top law firm and/or in‑house corporate legal department in corporate law and related transactions.
* In‑house experience (including client secondments) beneficial.
* Knowledge of and experience with wider European or Asian corporate law and related transactions beneficial.
* Willingness to learn such laws in new jurisdictions mandatory.
* Knowledge of and experience with corporate‑adjacent matters (Tax, HR, Finance) beneficial.
* Willingness to learn new skills in these areas mandatory.
* High ethical standards and excellent professional judgement.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
* Excellent legal drafting skills.
* Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite; notably Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
* Ability to provide high‑quality work product in a timely manner and to effectively multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
* Exceptionally detail‑oriented and organised, yet able to see the big picture.
* Creative and proactive problem‑solving, with a solutions‑focused mindset.
* Collaborative and works in tandem with colleagues.
* Willing to work extended hours when necessary, including connecting with colleagues or external advisors from other regions.
* Ability to take direction and manage and “own” projects from beginning to end with follow‑through.
* Self‑confident and able to inspire confidence from business leaders.
* Entertainment and/or sports industry experience preferred.
