Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Clinical Support Worker to join our Community Rehab Service. You will be working within the community therapy team on a combined clinical and administrative role that supports the multi‑disciplinary team. The position involves preparation and delivery of therapy sessions, group sessions, cleaning and maintenance of equipment, and a variety of administrative tasks that support the daily running of the therapy team.
Responsibilities
• Assist with the smooth running of clinical services, including stock management, servicing of equipment and practical skills, setting up clinics and patient groups, infection control, storeroom management, and daily management of patient information. • Support the delivery of treatment sessions under the direct oversight of clinical therapists and assistant practitioners. • Manage patient records and data entry into electronic patient systems, including handling blood results where appropriate. • Perform general administrative duties such as photocopying, filing, processing correspondence, and responding to staff and patient enquiries. • Prepare and maintain treatment areas to an appropriate standard, adhering to health and safety and infection control guidelines. • Assist with the preparation of the clinical service environment for meetings and training sessions. • Provide support for the delivery of assessment and treatment, and help maintain clinical documentation in line with relevant policies and legislation.
Qualifications – Essential
* GCSE Grade 4 or above in English / Maths or equivalent
* A willingness to undertake the National Care Certificate
* IT skills including Microsoft Office 365
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Organisational and time‑management skills
Qualifications – Desirable
* Completed Care Certificate
* Experience of working in a healthcare or care environment
* Work experience/volunteering in the NHS
* Previous experience working with therapists
* Previous experience working with stroke or neuro patients
Salary and Hours
The salary advertised is for full‑time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro‑rata. For posts on the Agenda for Change pay‑scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.
Disclosure and Barring Scheme
If the role you are applying for is identified as either controlled or regulated activity, any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained. The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £55.38 and for a Standard Disclosure will be £27.38. Candidates can choose to pay this over 1–3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary unless they are applying for a BANK worker position, in which case payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks.
