Role Purpose
Oversee and lead client projects, providing technical tax advice and building client relationships. Support the management team in day‑to‑day operations and strategic objectives, and help grow the firm by promoting and securing new business.
Key duties & responsibilities
* Oversee and lead client projects, managing challenging technical advice
* Manage and build client relationships
* Deliver strategic advisory services across private client portfolio
* Act as a vital part of the management team, ensuring internal and external targets and deadlines are met, supporting the leadership team in setting and delivering departmental objectives
* Play an active role in the growth of the firm by identifying and pursuing opportunities to promote the business in the marketplace, securing new work with the business development team
* Be recognised as a “go to” technical expert in private client areas such as Inheritance Tax, Trusts, Estates, succession planning, and shareholder transactions
* Review and sign off complex Self Assessment Tax Returns
* Liaise with external advisors to deliver high‑level tax advice
* Provide quality briefings to staff on delegation of work, offering ongoing support
* Maintain and develop technical expertise to deliver market‑leading specialist service, sharing expertise with clients and the wider market
* Take responsibility for sharing technical expertise across the team and wider firm, facilitating development of connected service lines
* Build practical solutions, offer recommendations, and demonstrate value of work to clients, with due regard for risk
* Actively maintain long‑standing, trusted client relationships on behalf of the firm
Experience & qualifications
* Relevant professional tax qualification (e.g., CA, ATT, CTA, STEP)
* Prior experience in a similar role with the technical expertise described above; knowledge of Irish Capital Taxes (CGT, CAT) and their UK counterparts is desirable
* Expertise in advisory work
* Track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience managing a team
* Proficiency in tax software
* Ability to undertake independent technical research, preferably using Tolleys Guidance/Library
