About the role
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Electrical Building Services Engineer to support and develop the project delivery capabilities of our busy and successful building services team. Project work will vary across a range of sectors including life sciences, defence, education, commercial, residential, renewable energy, industrial, retail, healthcare and leisure. The successful candidate will have design experience across similar sectors and a good understanding of design through all RIBA stages 1‑4.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct electrical services designs across a range of sectors from concept through to completion.
* Produce detailed design calculations to support designs.
* Generate reports, plant schedules and specifications for all aspects of electrical building services.
* Prepare design drawings using Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD and related tools.
* Conduct site surveys to establish current conditions and operation status of existing installations.
* Ensure compliance with construction health and safety regulations.
* Hold (or meet the criteria to hold) security clearance to MOD SC level.
Requirements
* Accredited Building Services / Electrical Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC or Degree) or equivalent.
* Post‑graduate experience in the design of electrical services.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Relux, Dialux, Amtech, NBS, and Microsoft Office.
* Experience in energy conservation, sustainability and renewable technologies.
* Strong knowledge of appropriate technical standards and legislation.
* Excellent communication, report writing and collaborative skills.
* Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple projects.
* Aspirations to pursue a senior-level career and achieve chartership.
