Position: Production Operative
We are currently seeking a Production Operative to support operations across production and warehouse functions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with food manufacturing experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate production machinery (e.g., bowl choppers, extruders, cutting equipment) safely and efficiently.
2. Conduct equipment changeovers and collaborate with the engineering team on asset care.
3. Monitor product quality, conduct CCP checks, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
4. Use internal systems (QIS, NAV) to maintain accurate production and cleaning records.
5. Take samples, inspect product integrity, and escalate issues as necessary.
6. Maintain stock levels and support on-site and off-site inventory accuracy.
7. Support and guide less experienced team members to ensure seamless shift transitions.
8. Contribute to continuous improvement and performance initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Food hygiene knowledge (Level 2)
2. Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment
3. Good communication skills and attention to detail
4. Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the role
5. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant discipline
6. People management or supervisory experience
7. Understanding of continuous improvement practices
