🚀 Culture Guru is partnering with one of London’s most prestigious office fit-out firms to find a Technical Design Manager who can bring clarity, creativity, and precision to complex commercial interior projects.
💫 This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-spec environments - someone who can seamlessly translate architectural concepts into practical, buildable solutions while safeguarding design integrity from pitch to completion.
📐 You’ll work across all project stages, from tender submission and design development to site delivery, acting as the crucial link between creative vision and construction reality.

🤝 Responsibilities of the role, but not limited to;
Tender Stage:
* Analyse tender documents and architectural concepts.
* Incorporate environmental assessments (BREEAM/Ska) into design planning.
* Develop win themes with trade contractors and contribute to bid documents.
* Build strong relationships with architects to support the design development process.
* Prepare and participate in client interviews.
Preconstruction Phase:
* Lead design development meetings with architects, PMs, and site teams.
* Coordinate mock-ups, samples, and material selections.
* Identify scope gaps and manage interface issues between work packages.
* Produce technical drawings, specifications, and RCP overlays using tools like AutoCAD, InDesign, and freehand sketching.
Construction & Site Support:
* Support the build by managing design-related trade interfaces.
* Conduct site walks to ensure construction aligns with design intent.
* Organise client off-site visits for material and finish approvals.
* Manage relationships with consultants and the supply chain.
Commercial & Quality Control:
* Monitor and manage change risks and value engineering opportunities.
* Maintain document control to track design changes and support commercial negotiations.
* Ensure design quality is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

* Strong technical knowledge of architectural design, detailing, and UK building regs.
* Confident in producing high-quality technical documentation and design visuals.
* Experienced in tools such as AutoCAD, InDesign, and hand sketching.
* Effective communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders (architects, PMs, consultants, supply chain).
* Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
* Commercially aware with an understanding of design impacts on cost and programme.
* Credible presence in interviews and client meetings, with a professional and collaborative approach.
