Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's business and corporate services partners worldwide.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal matters.
* Assist in managing compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and within network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal expertise.
* Develop and implement governance, policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, governance processes, and regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
* Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
* Deliver presentations and write articles on legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
* Expert legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strategic risk management skills with quick issue identification and mitigation recommendations.
* Experience negotiating, drafting, reviewing transactions, and advising across multiple jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex files, collaborating with business teams.
* Ability to balance the needs of a fast-growing global business with legal and compliance risk management.
* Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
