Freedom's Professional Services team is seeking a Project Budget Controller based in our Perth office on a hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will have some accounting experience and be working towards their AAT qualification.
The role involves working closely with Finance and Team Leaders to monitor and report on project and portfolio activities and KPIs, reporting to the Operations Manager for the business unit.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing project and portfolio data to design business management, such as project underspend, invoicing histograms, and overtime tracking.
* Generating standard and ad-hoc reports for management on projects and personnel.
* Conducting project investigations and root-cause analysis for underperformance.
* Ensuring timely submission of timesheets and collating resource utilization data.
* Performing real-time project reviews to monitor budgets and costs.
* Managing invoicing, credit notes, purchase orders, and goods receipting.
* Identifying budget releases at month-end.
* Supporting onboarding of new customers.
* Owning the Focalpoint platform for project management, acting as the primary contact for platform issues and inquiries.
* Understanding Focalpoint functionality and advising on best practices.
* Supporting engineers and team leaders with Earned Value Analysis.
* Promoting best practices in project naming and timesheet reporting.
Candidate requirements:
* Experience in an accounting environment with an understanding of accounting logic.
* Working towards AAT qualification is preferred.
* Strong MS Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables (essential).
