Overview

POSITION TYPE FULL-TIME

The Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Indigenous women, girls and gender diverse individuals (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) in accessing education, training, and employment opportunities. The ISET Coordinator is responsible for applications and overseeing the full lifecycle of client participation in the ISET program. This includes receiving and processing applications requesting funding to a qualified educational or training institution; assessing client eligibility for a living allowance and other supports; monitoring client progress (case management) throughout the intervention; developing employer and institutional partnerships; maintaining accurate client and financial records; regional promotion and marketing of the program; and compliance and reporting requirements as outlined by the Native Women\'s Association of Canada (NWAC) and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). The ISET Coordinator is expected to fully understand and adhere to the full ISET program requirements and ensure compliance - as not to put the client at undue risk nor the organization.


Duties and Responsibilities

1. Application Processing & Funding
o Receive client application requests for funding to a qualified educational or training institution.
o Enter applicant information into ARMs to create a Client File.
o Collect all information including consent forms and other required documents from the applicant, as per the \"Compliance Checklist\".
o Ensure applicants meet eligibility requirements as outlined in the Training Modules.
2. Client Case Management
o Conduct regular (at a minimum, monthly) follow-ups with clients to monitor attendance, academic/work placement progress, and any changes to financial
3. Compliance and Data Management
o Ensure all client files, including applications, supporting documents, case notes, intervention financials are accurate, up-to-date, and uploaded in the ARMs database at the time the applicant is received and throughout the intervention.
o Maintain strict compliance with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) standards as communicated by NWAC.
o Ensure secure handling of confidential client information and adherence to privacy standards and protocols.
4. Partnership Development and Program Promotion
o Build relationships with regional employers and create workplace opportunities through the Job Creation Partnership (JCP) and/or the Targeted Wage Subsidy (TWS) for eligible clients.
5. Reporting and Financial Oversight
o Maintain an active client list and regularly update the status of each client intervention on a quarterly or more frequent basis.
o Submit narrative and statistical reports to NWAC, including outcomes and program


Education and Experience

* Post-secondary education in social services, education, business admin, or related field — or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in case management, client services, or employment/training programs, ideally with NGOs or Indigenous organizations.
* Familiarity with ISET and/or Indigenous employment initiatives strongly preferred.
* Familiarity with Indigenous communities, organizations and employment and training agencies in Manitoba and across Canada.
* Knowledge of ESDC or other government compliance and reporting requirements is an asset.
* Proficient in data management and documentation; experience with ARMS or similar systems.
* Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and online platforms (Zoom, MS Teams).
* Able to work independently and collaboratively in a client-focused environment.
* Preference for Indigenous women in all their diversity (First Nations, Métis, Inuit).
* Valid driver\'s license and insurance preferred where/when required.
* Willing to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
* Clean criminal record or vulnerable sector check required for successful candidates.
