Our local authority client in Merseyside is seeking to appoint an experienced Contaminated Land Officer. Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing advice and support to the Planning, Transportation, and Building Surveying Services, as well as other Council Service areas, in the identification, assessment, and remediation of potentially contaminated land.
2. Developing and updating the City’s contaminated land strategy and ensuring its effective implementation.
3. Assisting in the development and maintenance of a Contaminated Land Information Management System, utilizing GIS databases and incorporating historical and relevant data sources.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications in this field, extensive technical knowledge, and practical experience related to contaminated land and environmental protection. They should be capable of undertaking inspections and complex complaint investigations.
Please note, this role is not fully remote; hybrid working arrangements are available. The exact on-site requirements can be discussed during interviews. The position is full-time, but part-time applicants are also welcome. Pay rates start from £45 per hour.
