A unique opportunity to join a major energy infrastructure project and apply your STEM knowledge to real-world occupational health and safety challenges. This 12-month Health & Safety Industrial Placement places you at the heart of a landmark construction programme, supporting the protection and wellbeing of thousands of workers on site.
You’ll work with experienced professionals, gain exposure to large-scale health risk monitoring and hazard control, and play a part in helping the UK move closer to net zero.
Key Criteria
* Working towards (or have completed) a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in a STEM subject (minimum 2:2)
* Available to complete a 12-month placement starting in Summer 2026
* Strong analytical skills and an interest in health, safety, and environmental monitoring
* Legal right to work in the UK from day one – sponsorship is not available
What You’ll Be Doing
This industrial placement focuses on supporting health risk management on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure sites. You’ll join the Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC Alliance team and get hands-on with:
* Occupational hygiene assessments (e.g. dust, fumes, chemical safety)
* Noise monitoring and hazard exposure analysis
* Safety inspections, reporting and data tracking
* Supporting the development of risk control strategies
* Contributing to health-focused campaigns and safety education on-site
Location
You’ll be based at the Bridgwater construction site (Hinkley Point C) – the largest active construction project in Europe. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and focused on creating a safety-first culture at scale.
