What you'll be doing
* Outsource and manage fire safety programmes, including Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Strategy development, for our property portfolio.
* Coordinate on‑site investigations, repairs and maintenance related to fire safety, working with external contractors and the in‑house Repairs Team.
* Lead the compilation of specifications for passive and active fire protection works, procure contract work, and ensure delivery to the required standard and within agreed timescales.
* Request and raise orders for external contractors or in‑house Repairs Team, oversee quality and delivery, and arrange payment for work.
* Maintain an overview of expenditure against budget, identify future repair needs, and input into programme planning.
* Use appropriate equipment and IT systems to conduct inspections, document photographic evidence, and maintain property records.
* Provide guidance to residents, staff, contractors and external stakeholders on inspection outcomes and any subsequent actions required.
* Attend meetings, compile reports and submit them as needed following inspections, incidents or complaints.
* Recommend improvements to inspection processes and information collation, ensuring compliance with current legislation and sector best practice.
Qualifications
* Proven experience delivering FRA programmes or equivalent fire safety compliance projects.
* Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, standards, and regulations.
* Experience managing contractors and consultants for compliance works.
* Knowledge of fire doors, passive fire protection and remedial fire safety measures such as detection and alarms.
* Demonstrable project and contract management experience.
* Strong IT skills and ability to manage compliance databases.
* Driving licence and access to a car.
* Minimum HNC/HND in a related discipline, or equivalent.
* Relevant qualification in fire safety, surveying, construction or property management (e.g., NEBOSH – Fire Safety, Fire Risk Assessor certification).
* Building construction and property knowledge with understanding of building pathology.
* Qualified Fire Door Inspector and understanding of wider asset compliance (gas, electrical, asbestos, water).
* Experience in social or supported housing and knowledge of statutory health and safety responsibilities.
* Membership of a relevant professional body (IFSM, IFE, ASFP, CIOB, RICS).
* Basic DBS check.
