We’re working with a fast-growing, independent professional services firm looking for an experienced Business Advisory Manager join their Birmingham office.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a collaborative and specialist team supporting businesses facing financial and operational challenges. You’ll play a key role in helping SMEs navigate issues such as HMRC arrears, cash flow difficulties, and creditor pressure—offering practical, strategic advice and hands-on solutions.
The Role
You’ll be working with business owners and directors to assess financial difficulties and implement turnaround strategies. The team has a strong track record of supporting clients with:
* HMRC Time to Pay arrangements
* Short-term cash flow forecasting
* Business reviews and strategic advice
* Introductions to lenders and alternative finance providers
* Interim and turnaround support
You’ll be involved from initial client contact through to delivery, working closely with a multidisciplinary team across restructuring, funding, legal, and business services.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend and lead client meetings, assessing financial health and identifying risks
* Draft business reviews and HMRC negotiation reports
* Prepare cash flow forecasts and P&L statements
* Manage a portfolio of advisory cases from start to finish
* Work with funders to support short-term financing solutions
* Collaborate internally with specialist teams on tailored recovery strategies
* Maintain strong relationships with clients and external advisers
What You’ll Need
* Experience in business advisory, restructuring, or related professional services
* Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
* Comfortable building relationships with clients, lenders, and other professionals
* Ability to manage competing deadlines and juggle multiple projects
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and forecasting tools
