Due to continued growth, this Education team in Cheltenham is looking to recruit a junior Education Solicitor (0 to 3 years’ PQE). The team acts for over 300 educational institutions, including:

• independent schools

• academies
\n\n
• maintained schools
\n\n
• further education colleges
\n\n
• specialist colleges
\n\n
• universities.
\n\n
\n\n
They are trusted advisers to schools and sector bodies alike and regularly support clients on some of the most sensitive and challenging issues they face. They also share their expertise widely, speaking at national education sector events and delivering tailored training to clients on key education law issues. Matters will involve working closely with heads, governors, senior leadership teams and governing bodies, providing clear, practical and proportionate advice in situations that often require sensitivity, confidence and sound judgment.

The successful candidate will assist in advising a wide range of educational institutions on a broad range of sensitive, complex and often high‑profile education law matters, including:

• safeguarding and child protection issues;
\n\n
• parental complaints and pupil-related issues;
\n\n
• discrimination and equality matters;
\n\n
• pastoral and reputational issues;
\n\n
• governance, compliance and regulatory matters.

Applicants will ideally have experience in education law, public law or charity law or a strong interest in developing a career in education law.
